Important Instruction From Mary

Important Instruction From Mary

Growing up, I was taught to love Mary, to adore her, and to emulate her. She was like the most important biblical character to me. When I started reading the bible, I spent most of my bible reading time searching for things concerning Mary. Along the line, I found something I felt was the most important words from Mary. For years, I held these ageless words of Mary as a very important nugget for a life of success. And today, it remains at the center of my life and pursuit. I strongly believe following such an instruction from Mary will make a difference in your life, hence I present it to you in this article.

Walking with God can be challenging sometimes, especially when you seem not to understand what the Lord is doing. It was at such a time when the Lord's instruction could appear foolish to the servants in the ceremony that Mary gave them words that saved them from a costly mistake. It is a mistake of trying to make sense of the Lord's ways before following them and today most of us make the same mistake every now and then.

It was at a wedding in Cana that Jesus attended with His disciples and Mary was there too. The wine for the ceremony happened to finish against the plan of the bridegroom and Mary informed Jesus of it. Jesus sounded unconcerned but Mary went ahead and informed the servants in the ceremony to do everything Jesus tells them to do. Afterward, Jesus told them to fill the wine jars with water. If you were the servants, would you do that? It doesn't make sense at all but they did because Mary said to them, 'Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.' (John 2:5).

WHATEVER HE SAITH UNTO YOU, DO IT. It may even be easy to fill the empty wine jars with water but drawing the water to give guests in place of wine is undoubtedly too difficult. But the servants followed Mary's instruction and did exactly that. This seemingly foolish obedience gave birth to one of the biggest miracles in history. When you learn to obey the Lord's instructions even when it appears humanly unreasonable, you will soon begin to see miracles that are humanly impossible.

The prophet of God once told a military commander that was leprosy, 'Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed." That didn't sound good to him. He was expecting a different approach to healing. 'I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn't I wash in them and be cleansed?' he said angrily.

But, 'Naaman's servants went to him and said, 'My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, 'Wash and be cleansed'!' So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy. (2 Kings 5:1-7).

Once you're sure the instruction is from Jehovah, dare to obey even if it appears illogical. I assure you, you won't regret it. Let the words of Mary be your motto, 'Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.'. If he tells you to move, move! He will take care of the barriers. If He tells you to wait, wait, you will be glad you did. Let the spirit lead you where your trust is beyond borders. You will walk upon the waters if you follow him wherever he calls you.
