Stop Making Mistakes

Stop Making Mistakes

Mistakes are one of the key things that delay our success in life. And until a man commits to living without mistakes, he may struggle to achieve worthy results. My desire for writing this article is to encourage you to change your perspectives towards making mistakes in this new year. I wish it could inspire you to view mistakes as something strongly undesirable and capable of significantly limiting one's progress and achievements. I also want you to believe and commit to a year and life without mistakes.

Some respected persons and sources have directly told people to make mistakes. Both these motivational speakers and even others who lay too much emphasis on learning from others' mistakes make it appear as if mistakes are necessary requirements in life. But no matter how good making mistakes is presented, not making mistakes is always a far better option and should instead be pursued. Just imagine how your life would be if every decision and move you are going to make this year is void of mistakes.

In 2008, I met a very wonderful and vibrant lady who shared her life experiences with me. One of the most touching ones was how she almost lost her life because a doctor forgot medical scissors in her stomach during surgery and sealed her up. Imagine how you would have felt if she was your sister and the doctor was telling you that it was just a mistake. It is quite ironic how most of us demand medical practices void of mistakes but view life mistakes as no big deal.

I understand that getting it right the first time during learning is quite difficult and trying to avoid mistakes could be negative in that regard. However, when it comes to important life decisions, not aiming to get it right the first time is ignorantly limiting oneself. Each time I think about how much people invest in relationships that are simply mistakes, I feel bad about how much resources people waste on things that will later be seen as a mistake. I could imagine how different things would have been if they got it right the first time.

While others continue to encourage mistakes, Jesus Christ had a totally different view. 'Be perfect, therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect', He admonished. While my aim for this article is not to tell anyone to become perfect, I sincerely want to persuade every reader to demand from himself/herself a 'life without mistakes'. Once we start getting uncomfortable with mistakes, we begin to see how destructive bad judgment could be and our eyes are opened to see that some everyday mistakes are avoidable.

Many actually wonder how to actually avoid mistakes when they have no idea what tomorrow will be. This is exactly why it is very important to learn to listen to the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit was given to guide and lead us in the path that God ordained for us. And the new year presents yet another great opportunity to commit to being led by the spirit. If you desire to walk without mistakes and commit to getting it right the first time, God will through His Spirit crown your efforts by leading you in the way you should go. It is never God's intention for his children to gamble their lives.

If you want to experience a great year, I encourage you to commit to a life without mistakes and understand that learning is possible even without anyone's mistakes to learn from. Pray for it, and be conscious of it. The result of such consciousness can manifest like a miracle. And the earlier one starts to desire and pursue 'life without mistakes' the better the eventual experiences in life. Just as those who view sinful acts as normal mistakes hardly break out from it, those who view mistakes as normal things hardly break out of the cycle of terrible life mistakes.
