Treasures Everywhere
The mindset you have about life will play a great role in what your experience in this world will be like. Many stresses people go through in life have more to do with their mindset than the very thing they think is the source of their stress. You can enjoy your life. God actually wants you to enjoy your life here on earth. And until you develop an abundance mentality, you may struggle to experience and enjoy the extravagant goodness that is around you.
The bible says: 'Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.' (1 Timothy 6:17) Did you see that: 'God gives us everything we need for our enjoyment.' Wow! We have all we need for our enjoyment. It does not matter which country you are, in or the type of job you are doing, there are treasures everywhere.
Right now I'm playing one of the songs of LoveWorld singers and part of the song says: 'The earth is full of Your goodness, Hidden riches of secret places, Treasures everywhere'. When you develop such consciousness, you will be amazed how your eyes are constantly opened to see everything you need right before you. I encourage you to develop an abundance mentality. I encourage you to view the world as abundant in terms of love, relationships, employment, wealth, support, opportunities, customers, and resources.
People say there are scarcity of good men, scarcity of good wives, scarcity of this, and that. God does not want us to think that way. When others think in terms of scarcity, think in terms of abundance. Have you ever read 2 Corinthians 9:8, 'And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.' Though there are conditions attached to that statement, it does show that abundance is possible. And God desires for us to experience sufficiency.
When I moved to Lagos in 2016, I was wondering what will become of me and through whom God will fulfill his promises seeing that I know almost no one. I was praying one day and after praying I felt like God was telling me, 'I have many people in this place'. I was so excited. God had many people even though I don't know who or where they were at that point. However, the events that followed proved to me that God indeed had many people that he has positioned to be of great blessing to me. God once told Paul, 'For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.' (Acts 18:10)
I believe we should have the mentality that says, ' I have unlimited opportunities for personal success.' In the wilderness, Jesus wanted to feed so many people and he asked his disciples about their opinion, 'Philip answered him, 'It would take more than half a year's wages to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!''(John 6:7). It seemed there would never be enough for everyone but we all knew how the story ended. Jesus proved that God is unlimited and even in the midst of seeming scarcity, there could be a great abundance. When you have an abundance mentality, your eyes are opened to see great opportunities.
I encourage you to refuse to conform to a life of scarcity, develop an abundance mentality, see beyond the physical. See, there are treasures everywhere.
