No Where To Chat
Imagine that all your social media accounts are blocked. Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, twitter, TikTok, etc. Imagine if it's perpetually blocked for violating its terms and conditions. If this happens to you, it will feel like you are in the dark as the world currently relies heavily on these channels for communication. What if it's your church accounts that are suspended. What if your church is not allowed to use Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, etc. Imagine that app stores and cloud platforms also suspended them from using their platforms.
Each time I think about these, I become very concerned about the preparedness of the church in the face of the growing monopolization of information technology channels and platforms. Earlier this week I read about the suspension of TB Joshua's official YouTube channel on what YouTube described as hate speech. According to the news sources, TB Joshua was seen in a YouTube video casting out the spirit of gay from someone. According to YouTube, saying that something is wrong with someone because of the person's sexual orientation is hate speech. The channel was blocked, although the subject came back to the church to testify of the veracity of Joshua's claim.
According to BBC News, the ministry was appealing to YouTube to please reconsider the suspension. And for me, it is very disturbing news. Some of us have been celebrating our church's YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Twitter handle as if we owe those channels. These platforms are run by powerful businessmen who don't care about your Jesus and whatever story you tell in your church. Once they feel you're saying things that oppose their company's philosophy and paradigm, they won't hesitate to block you. And these guys are working together in their sanctions. As you may know, Facebook also removed the video from the ministry from their platform. When they do this to people we feel are wrong, we celebrate not knowing that 'power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely'
I know the church will triumph over any force in the universe but we must be proactive in our approach. That is the only way we can survive the current global move to force everyone to accept evil as being good and to silence all dissenting voices. It may not be obvious to you but the owners of these global technologies are apparently the most powerful people in the world. And if governments around the world align with them, people will be forced to conform to whatever they want. They can determine what is allowed and what is not allowed in the world. Remember, they don't only own applications, they own the platforms and even the operating systems we use today, and the position they are taking appeals very well to many governments and forces around the world.
When NBC banned the show of miracles on television in Nigeria, satellites came through for ministries. Today, I'm wondering what will come through if the big tech begins to determine what are acceptable messages and what are not. WHAT WILL YOUR CHURCH DO? What are they doing currently in preparation for the future? What are you doing as a Christian? (I really thank God for Pastor Chris who appears to have seen the future and is making a tremendous effort in preparation).
Finally, dare to be rapturable, for a time is coming when you can't do virtually anything in the world unless you pledge your allegiance to the beast. 'And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.' Revelation 13:17.
