Can We Cancel The Rapture?

While I was on the bus, I was reflecting on what the preacher said the other day. He was talking about the rapture, the sudden disappearance of all qualified Christians from the face of the earth to meet Jesus in the air. He mentioned that those that won't be taken will face a very terrible experience which may end up with life in hellfire.

I was greatly troubled by those words. Somehow I wished they were not true. My concern is not really what that means for me as a person but for my friends, neighbors, family members, and several other people who are yet to accept the salvation provided by Christ.

For their sake, I dreaded the rapture. I wished that part of Jesus' program for the world could be canceled. I wanted the rapture canceled because many people I love may not be taken. They may still be in this world when terrible things will be happening.

They say, 'if wishes were horses, beggars will ride. I was simply delusional. I can't do anything about the Rapture but I (and you) can do something about the salvation of people around us, salvation of the world. We hold a very critical key to them being raptured and it's time we start using our key.

It's time we take the message of the end very seriously and preach to every living thing around us including our family and friends. It's time we pray for the salvation of the world. It's time we think missions, talk missions and do missions. It's time we feel the burden and save souls. We will not be able to cancel the rapture but we can increase the number that will be taken. We can save souls from going to hell. Yes, we can!
