The Curse Of The Anointing
The word anointing which is supposed to be one of the most remarkable words in the world has become directly opposite to certain people. And when you examine the situation that led to such repulsive feelings for the seemingly anointed, you will be surprised to uncover appalling stories of the deep pains some of these people had to go through. Many people have been endangered, defrauded, misled, exploited, wounded, damaged, and even violated as a result of man's ignorant or deliberate wickedness in the name of being an anointed man of God which in most cases they are not.
A young man once told his creditor to be careful of how he asks him for the money because he is an apostle of God and has the ability to curse. This made me shiver about how careless people are with godly titles and how delusional many have become with the use of God's name. Some even claim to have the anointing to kill and just like the disciples of Jesus, they are not aware of the kind of Spirit we have in Christ Jesus. A few years ago, a young girl was telling me how the man in charge of the prayer program she was attending had told her that her problem can only be solved by a special anointing that can only be transferred through sexual intercourse.
A whole lot of terrible things are happening in various places in the name of God and it is very saddening. Some of the people doing these things are aware of their falsehood and wickedness and are very deliberate in their deception. Few others are simply ignorant of what is expected of a Christian. They are not aware of the character of God's Spirit. Many of them are either wrongly schooled in the things of God or never paid proper attention to the teachings of Christ and the apostles. Whichever one that is the case, 'o man thou art inexcusable'. Yes, you have contacted a strange spirit in your quest for power and you think the few things you see is a sign of God's approval of your actions. They are not! That your prayer seemed to produce an effect does not mean God approves your prayers. You need to be careful and not gamble your life for attention and recognition.
The Lord Jesus Christ is not pleased with your actions and this article is a means through which God is warning you today. You need to change your ways. It may seem to work today, but you're heading to a rock and there might not be another opportunity to change. If you feel you are called by God, don't rush into leading others until you're probably schooled in the things of God. There is a way of life in Christ Jesus and it is something one has to learn. That you feel God is calling you does not make you a pastor. Until you learn the proper way to walk with God and how to deal with God's people, the seemingly anointing you feel you have today might turn into a curse in your life. Don't rush out there to destroy the grace of God that is in your life. Humble yourself and learn the ways of God.
There is a way a Christian ought to pray. There is a way a man of God ought to pray. There is a way he ought to handle his life. Jesus told us about certain religious people who are very zealous for God and made great efforts to convert people to their practice, only to make these people worse than they have ever been. 'Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.' (Matthew 23:15).
Dear man of God, apostle of miracle, shekinah prophet, fire evangelist, cross-and-die bishop, heavenly bulldozer, your actions may not be as bad as some of the things I have mentioned, but this is a clarion call for you to examine your ways. A call to check your actions. A call to make necessary changes. Jesus said, 'If anyone causes one of these little ones'those who believe in me'to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.' (Matthew 18:16). 'Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.' (Hebrews 3:15).
